Gender Inequality Index

It measures gender inequalities in three essential aspects of human development.

  • Reproductive health, measured by maternal mortality ratio and adolescent birth rates

  • Empowerment is measured by the women's parliamentary seats and the proportion of adult females with at least some secondary education.

  • Economic status is expressed as labor market participation and measured by the labor force participation rate of females.
