While gender inequality and absence of economic empowerment of women is a serious concern all around the world, it is even more so in South Asian Region of heavily populated countries. Women face serious incidence of low literacy, limited employment opportunities, gender discrimination, poor health facilities and domestic violence in these countries. Even the problems faced by diaspora of women belonging to this region cannot be underestimated. CREESAW focuses on creating awareness of the issues faced by women belonging to these countries and bringing different stakeholders on joint platforms to propose effective strategies for their economic empowerment.

Women and men have to fight together to change society - and both will benefit... Partnership, not dependence, is the real romance in marriage.
